Originally envisioned as a hybrid villa, private home on the ground floor and two rentable rooms above. This project was designed to adapt. Early in the design phase, we placed an independent outdoor staircase near the main entrance, separating circulation for owner and guests, ensuring privacy and a seamless dual-function layout.
The architectural approach embraces a modern tropical sensibility, blending openness and greenery to create a natural microclimate. A central inner courtyard connects both floors with a vertical void, allowing a medium-sized tree to grow upward through the structure, bringing shade, softness, and a poetic transition between levels. Lush planting on both floors enhances the sense of indoor-outdoor continuity.

Above, a flat rooftop space was designed with long-term flexibility in mind. Initially planned as a wooden-decked terrace, the structural system allows for future upgrades into shared-use facilities such as a gym or multipurpose pavilion, offering possibilities for evolving lifestyles.
However, during construction, the owner's plans shifted. Rather than renting the upper rooms, he chose to fully inhabit the villa and enhance it with premium finishes. Solid wood was used extensively throughout the facade and interior, adding warmth, depth, and a handcrafted quality to the home. The kitchen, reimagined as a centerpiece, reflects the owner’s profession as a chef, functionally refined and spatially celebrated.

Beyond its main living and bedroom spaces, the villa is equipped with complete service amenities, including a laundry area with dedicated access from the entrance. This ensures staff circulation remains discreet and does not interrupt the domestic environment.
This project illustrates how architecture can remain responsive, designed with foresight, yet open to change, while always grounded in atmosphere, structure, and lifestyle.
